A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF PALCO, KANSAS, FROM THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-1651; AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO, WHICH RELATES TO THE DESIGNATION OF OFFICIAL CITY NEWSPAPER, AND PROVIDING SUBSTITIUTE PROVISIONS THEREFORE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF PALCO, KANSAS:

Section 1. The City of Palco, Kansas, by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to exempt itself and make inapplicable to it the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1651 and any amendments thereto. Such referenced statute relates to the designation of official city newspapers in Cities of the Second and Third Class, an enactment of the legislature, which is applicable to the City of Palco, Kansas, but not uniformly applicable to all cities within the state of Kansas.

Section 2.  The Governing Body of Palco, Kansas, shall designate, by authorizing, upon proper resolution, the Palco, Kansas city website, as the official city newspaper.
